Lauren Samblanet

Lauren Samblanet is a poetry MFA candidate at Temple University. She recently moved to Philadelphia from Boulder, Colorado. Her work often focuses on the ways that trauma affects the  body. Her poems have been published in Walkabout and Adanna, and a dance-radio piece was  published on Colorado Public Radio’s website. Her abstract paintings and a handmade pop-up  book were featured in two art shows in Boulder. Body Presses, a poetry/dance collaboration with  Skye Hughes, was performed at the University of Colorado’s Black Box Theater. While she is  new to dance, she is so excited about dance that she is avidly attending performances, reading  dance reviews and essays, and participating in Gaga and Contact Improvisation jams. She is  honored and ecstatic to be writing for thINKingDANCE.
