Miryam Coppersmith



Miryam Coppersmith is a writer, performer, and educator. Her work combines contemporary dance, contact improvisation, theater and social dancing with a myriad of themes from Jewish identity to cybernetics to inspirations from Shakespeare. She has trained with SITI Company and Vertigo Dance Company and worked with Wirehead Theater Collective, Chautauqua Theater Company, Nicole Bindler, Nusha Martynuk, and others. She received a BA in Dance and Creative Writing from Oberlin College and was awarded the Helen Ward Memorial Prize for Dance and Theater. Miryam daylights as a Jewish educator at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, teaches blues dance with Powerhouse Blues and this one time she wrote a young adult novel, The Necrarian.
