Julie B. Johnson
Julie B. Johnson, a Baltimore native and longtime New York resident, is thrilled to call Philadelphia her new home. She is a dance artist and first-year PhD student in the Dance Program at Temple University, working on community interaction through choreography, education, performance, and collaboration. Julie is interested in dance taking place in and out of the studio, on and off the stage, and anywhere in between. She has taught numerous dance residencies for various school districts and community organizations; taught as a Guest Artist at Spelman College in Atlanta; and presented choreography in Los Angeles and throughout New York. In 2009, she coordinated an international dance and cultural exchange in Accra, Ghana. She is a founding Artistic Director of Evolve Dance Inc. (NY); and a faculty member and former director of The Y Dance Program (NY). Ms. Johnson has a BA in dance with a pedagogy concentration from Marymount Manhattan College, and an MS in nonprofit management from The New School.
